Ring groups: ring several people at once
Beta: Ring groups are a beta feature and may change.
A ring group rings several of your saved numbers when a call comes in, instead of forwarding to just one line. You add it as an action in a number's call flow, and it's useful whenever an incoming call should reach a whole team — say a sales line ringing three mobiles — rather than a single phone.
Choose how the group rings
A ring group has two ring orders:
- Everyone simultaneously — every member's phone rings at once, and the first person to pick up takes the call.
- One at a time, in order — members are called one after another down the list until someone answers. The order matters, and you can drag members into the order you want.
How long it rings
The ring timeout sets how long the group rings before it gives up. The default is 30 seconds, and you can set anything from 5 to 120 seconds. For “one at a time, in order”, each person rings for up to that long before the next one is tried.
If nobody answers
Every ring group has a fallback — what happens when no one picks up. If nobody answers within the ring timeout, the call carries on to the next action in your call flow. A new ring group starts with voicemail as that next step, and you can change it to another action. A ring group can't be saved without a fallback, so callers are never left with nothing.
Members
A ring group can have up to 10 members. Each member is one of the contacts or numbers saved on your account. You can't add the same number twice.
