A few things worth knowing to get the most out of ring groups. For the basics, see Ring groups: ring several people at once and Set up a ring group.
Limits
- Up to 10 members per ring group.
- Ring timeout between 5 and 120 seconds (default 30).
- A ring group needs at least one member and a fallback before it can be saved.
- The same number can't be added to a group twice.
Everyone at once, or one at a time?
- Choose Everyone simultaneously when you just want the fastest pickup — every phone rings together and whoever's free answers.
- Choose One at a time, in order when there's a natural first choice — the call goes down the list until someone answers, so put your first port of call at the top.
With one at a time, the ring timeout applies to each person in turn, so a long timeout across several members adds up. Keep it short if you want callers to reach the fallback quickly.
Why the fallback matters
The fallback is what callers reach if no one in the group picks up — the action in the ring group's own If nobody answers slot. Without it, a missed call would simply end. A new ring group starts with Send to Voicemail in that slot; change it if you'd rather send missed callers somewhere else.
